Status as of July 12th, 2011:
The applicant presented the proposal to the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday, July 12th. In general, the Commissioners thought that the applicant was missing an opportunity to restore the historic character of the building and the district. They thought that the proposed molding was too “generic” and “watered-down,” ans that the lighting was inappropriate. They suggested that the applicant reorganize the glazing on the storefront to better match the symmetry of the building. The Commission did not vote on the application, but rather asked the applicant to return with a revised proposal at a later date TBD.

Status as of July 5th, 2011:
The applicant presented the proposal to the Landmarks & Public Aesthetics Committee of Community Board 2 at their public hearing on July 5th. The application is scheduled to be shown to the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday, July 12th.
