The applicant presented the revised proposal to the Landmarks Preservation Commission at their public meeting on May 10th. The applicant had made the proposed wall sign smaller, so it would take up only 6.6% of the entire wall, and set it back 3.5 feet from the front facade and windows. The applicant also proposed to repaint the wall to match the underlying brick adjacent to this wall. The Commission voted to approve the revised application.

:
At the April 12th public hearing of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the Commission took no formal vote on the application. Rather, they asked that the applicant make some revisions to the proposal. The Commission generally thought that the proposed artwork resembles signage and thus should be judged according to the Commission’s rules for signage. Although the size of the proposed ‚Äúsign‚Äù meets regulations, the Commission thought it should be set back further from both the front facade and the side windows and should be displayed no higher than the 3rd floor. The Commission also had concerns with the color of the brick surrounding the sign. The applicant will consider these comments and return with a revised proposal at a later date TBD.

Status as of April 8th, 2011:
The public hearing at the Landmarks Preservation Commission has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 12th.

Status as of April 5th, 2011:
