At Landmarks Preservation Commission’s public hearing on July 12th, the Commission voted to approve the application.

Status as of July 8th, 2011:
The Landmarks Preservation Commission’s public hearing on this application has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 12th.

Status as of June 20th, 2011:
The Landmarks Preservation Commission’s public hearing on this application, originally scheduled for June 21st, has been postponed to a date TBD.

Status as of June 13th, 2011:
At the Community Board 2 hearing on June 13th, the applicant presented the proposal that will be heard at the Landmarks Preservation Commission on June 21st.

According to the applicants, they are proposing to shorten the marquee because trucks continue to hit and damage it (notice on the map below that Barrow Street runs perpendicular to Washington Place; trucks backing up on Barrow Street can apparently easily back over the curb and hit the marquee, which extends all the way to the edge of the sidewalk).

This application is scheduled to be shown publicly for the first time at the Community Board 2 Landmarks & Public Aesthetics Committee public hearing at on Monday, June 13th, 2011, at 6:30 pm at the Church of Our Lady of Pompei, 25 Carmine St., in Father Demo Hall (as these details are subject to change, please visit the Community Board’s calendar for the most up-to-date information).
